The real problem when choosing a ski resort is not missing information but incomparable information. Each resort publishes its own figures under its own definitions: some count magic carpets as lifts, some do not; some measure slope length round trip, some one way.

Putting those side by side is like writing centimetres and inches in one column. The table looks full, the ranking looks sensible, and the result is wrong.

This site does one thing: it places twenty resorts side by side on four metrics taken from a SINGLE source measured the same way, and states plainly what that method is.

We do not publish prices. Fares change within a season, and showing an undatable price as current sends readers to the wrong budget.

We do not publish season dates. Opening and closing depend on snow and shift every year; republishing last year's dates produces the wrong plan.

We do not publish live piste status. There is no way to verify which runs are open across twenty resorts from one place, and an incomplete table can send someone hundreds of kilometres for nothing.

We do not publish piste counts. Counting pistes depends on definitions and is not comparable between resorts; we use length and vertical drop instead.

We do not recommend resorts. Which one suits you depends on your level, where you start from and how many days you have; this site's job is to make comparison possible, not to decide.

The risk of one source is obvious: if it is wrong, the whole table is wrong. To test that, we compared two catalogue entries against independent official sources.

Erciyes's elevation range (2,088–3,346 m) matched the operator's own lift table exactly. Kartepe's slope length and elevation range were consistent with Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality's cable car specification.

The same check also exposed a difference in method: the official Erciyes source says 19 installations while the catalogue says 14. The gap is five magic carpets. That is a definitional difference, not an error — and precisely why we do not mix the two sources in one table.

The site currently has no commercial partnership, sponsorship or commission arrangement. We are not paid when we point a reader to a resort.

That matters especially for a directory: a directory whose ranking can be bought is not a directory. If a partnership is ever set up it will be stated plainly and will not affect the ranking.
