Frequently asked questions
Which is the biggest ski resort in Turkey?
By slope length it is Erciyes at 55.1 km, then Palandöken at 43 km and Uludağ at 28 km. But "biggest" depends on the column: Uludağ leads clearly on lifts with 25.
Which is the highest ski resort in Turkey?
By top elevation, Erciyes at 3,346 m. For snow reliability, though, the base matters more, and there Konaklı leads: its 2,327 m base keeps its entire ski area highest.
Why do these figures differ from other sites?
Usually method. This catalogue measures slope length one way and counts only named mechanical lines, excluding magic carpets. The official Erciyes source says 19 installations while the catalogue says 14 — the difference is five carpets.
Why is there no piste count?
Counting pistes depends on definitions: is a slope that forks one run or two, and does a connector count? Resorts answer differently, so the counts are not comparable, and a non-comparable number in a comparison table misleads.
Why no prices?
Fares change within a season and cannot be sourced consistently. Showing an undatable price as current sends readers to the wrong budget. For current tariffs, check the resort's own announcements.
Which resort suits a beginner?
In a first season resort size barely matters; you use a small part of any network. What decides the day is travel time, total cost and the freedom to cancel. Small resorts near big cities are usually the better first attempt.
Why does vertical drop matter?
Slope length tells you how many days a resort will occupy you; vertical tells you how long the descents are, and the two do not always track. Ergan Dağı pairs a small 9.4 km network with 1,220 m of vertical — very long descents on a short network.
How many resorts, and why not all of them?
Twenty. Turkey has more ski areas, but for many of them the source publishes only partial data. A table full of gaps makes comparison harder, so the catalogue keeps resorts where at least three of the four metrics are known.
Can I see live piste status here?
No. There is no way to verify which runs are open across twenty resorts from one place, and an incomplete table can send someone hundreds of kilometres for nothing. Resort pages carry model-based weather, but for piste status check the resort's own announcements.
Does this site have commercial ties to the resorts?
No. We are not the official site of any resort listed, have no partnership with any, and are not paid for pointing readers to one. A directory whose ranking can be bought is not a directory.
